چکیده
Electricity markets are currently experiencing a period of rapid change. The intermittent nature renewable energy is disrupting the conventional methods used in operational planning electrical grid, causing shift from day-ahead forecast policy to real-time pricing delivered electric power. A path towards more renewable, robust and intelligent system inevitable but poses many challenges researchers industry. In field process industry, strategies based on demand side response receiving attention could represent partial solution for this challenge. Coordination between production scheduling procurement power high importance can contribute reducing cost emissions associated with production. methodology quantify such benefits presented here case study, which reveals potential flexible operation. case, minimum compensation flexibility services ranges 5 20 € per unit (MWh) restricted However, depends geographic location (electricity prices) frequency restrictions. method follows rolling approach that provides optimization short-term schedule. This work introduces concept representing processes as ‘equivalent batteries’ store electricity low-cost periods intermediate products consume embedded during high-cost periods. Cost related providing combined profits optimized toward monetization an ancillary service grid. Balancing implementing DSR solutions means calculating strategy grid flexibility.

Valuing flexibility in demand-side response: A real options approach
The investment interests in the electricity industry are transmitted through various mechanisms to other economic activities. This paper considers methods for esteeming the adaptability of demand-side response (DSR) in its capacity to react to future uncertainties. The capacity to evaluate this adaptability is particularly critical for vitality frameworks speculations given their extensive and ...
متن کاملFlexibility Analysis for Smart Grid Demand Response
Flexibility is a key enabler for the smart grid, required to facilitate Demand Side Management (DSM) programs, managing electrical consumption to reduce peaks, balance renewable generation and provide ancillary services to the grid. Flexibility analysis is required to identify and quantify the available electrical load of a site or building which can be shed or increased in response to a DSM si...
متن کاملDso Congestion Management Using Demand Side Flexibility
The increase in electricity demand has exerted pressure on distribution networks to provide efficient and reliable services. In addition to this, the deployment of Distributed energy resources (DERs) is increasing vastly. Thus, new strategies for congestion management are required to cope with these new changes. This paper, proposes an algorithm to optimize the total operational cost of Distrib...
متن کاملEnterprise-wide Optimization for Industrial Demand Side Management
In the light of increasing volatility in electricity price and availability, demand side management (DSM), which refers to the active management of electricity consumption, has become crucial for the economic performance of power-intensive industries. Due to its time-sensitive nature, DSM is a challenge for industrial plants; however, it can also be an opportunity if sufficient process flexibil...
متن کاملA Distributed Demand-Side Management Framework for the Smart Grid
This paper proposes a fully distributed Demand-Side Management system for Smart Grid infrastructures, especially tailored to reduce the peak demand of residential users. In particular, we use a dynamic pricing strategy, where energy tariffs are function of the overall power demand of customers. We consider two practical cases: (1) a fully distributed approach, where each appliance decides auton...
